Thomas Flaherty

In 1972, after graduating from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, Tom began his career in the construction industry as an expediter for A. Wachsberger Roofing and Siding Co. Lynbrook, NY.  During his 6 year tenure there, he gained extensive knowledge in both commercial roofing applications and general construction and worked his way up to commercial roofing sales. In 1978, he joined Bruce Meltzer as the Executive V.P. of the newly formed General Building Products Corp, where they grew the company to a 10 location contractor and retail building materials supplier. In 1993 Tom joined Bruce, as the Executive V.P., and eventually a partner in the newly formed Triangle Building Products Corp, a major supplier and manufacturer of building materials and components, serving the professional trade in the tristate market.

Tom currently resides in Huntington Village, NY with his wife Peggy and their daughter Alexandra, a college student attending the Medical University of South Carolina. Tom has two other children, daughter Kristin Flaherty-DePasquale, and son Kevin Flaherty, both of whom work in sales and design capacities for Triangle Building Products and have been integral in the growth of the company. Tom has 5 grandchildren. He has been a member of The Huntington Crescent Club for 35 years and is a member of the Long Island Builders Association for over 40 years.
